As part of Zeelo’s ESG Strategy to drive the transition towards net zero-bus transport in the United Kingdom by 2030, we are delighted to announce that Dwight School London has become the first independent school in the United Kingdom to adopt a new electric bus service for their students.
Many students use a bus or other form of public transportation to get to school, and this frequent trip offers an opportunity for unsupervised social interaction and, of course, catching up on any last-minute homework. But schools must realise how crucial it is to ensure that safety and welfare rules are followed while providing transportation services.
The Government has and continues to reject calls to make car parking permanently free for all NHS workers. In July 2020, the Prime Minister confirmed that NHS staff would receive free car parking for the duration of the pandemic but reiterated that this was always intended to be a time-limited measure at a time of unprecedented demand. Free parking for NHS staff was rescinded in April 2022 and reportedly cost around £130 million during the pandemic.
